Covid Vaccinations for the Under 18s who are  Immunosuppressed

As part of the National Spring Covid Vaccination Programme, arrangements are now in place to vaccinate those children under 18 years of age who fall into the immunosuppressed group.

As you may be aware, your GP Surgery is unable to offer vaccinations to those under 19 years of age.

You may have received a text message offering your child a vaccination as their NHS medical record suggests they are classed as immunocompromised and may be at increased risk from Covid-19.  Covid-19 is mild for most young people, but some with certain medical conditions are at increased risk of becoming seriously ill.  If this is a booster it will need to be received a minimum of 91 days since their last dose.  Vaccination will lower your child's risk of hospital admission.

Walk in clinics are available on Saturday 18th May and Sunday 19th May 2024 at:

Redwood Education Centre

Gloucestershire Royal Hospital

Great Western Road

Gloucester

GL1 3NN

The clinic will be open between 9.00 am and 16.00 pm each day.  Both days are walk-in, you do not need to book an appointment or contact your Surgery.

If you are unable to attend either of the above dates, depending on the uptake further session(s) will be arranged in June.  Please do not contact your Surgery, you will be contacted again.
